Candy.ai: honest pricing page, five free messages, and a refund window that closes fast
One of the largest AI companion platforms by traffic, run by a named EU company, with a pricing page that hides nothing — and three terms in the small print that decide whether you end up happy with what you paid.
Pricing, verified
All figures from Candy.ai's own subscriptions page on 25 August 2026. Note the third column — the headline rate on the page is a monthly equivalent, not what is charged.
| Plan | Advertised as | Actually charged | Tokens |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12 months | $3.99/mo | $47.88 once | 100/mo |
| 3 months | $8.99/mo | $26.97 once | 100/mo |
| 1 month | $13.99/mo | $13.99 | 100/mo |
| Bi-weekly | — | $9.79 | 100/mo |
| Weekly | — | $5.60 | 100/mo |
Every tier includes unlimited text chat, 100 tokens a month, image and video generation, and custom companion creation. Tokens are the real consumable — they are what image and video generation spend — and extra token packs are sold separately.
At $47.88 for twelve months, the annual plan is the cheapest serious option in this category. For comparison, DreamGF's annual plan renews at $311.88 and Nomi charges $99.99. If price is your main criterion, this is the answer, and the weekly plan at $5.60 is a genuinely low-commitment way to try it.
The three terms that actually matter
KNOW THIS The free tier is five messages per month, stated in the terms of service. That is not enough to evaluate conversation quality, memory, or whether the companion holds a personality over time. Do not plan to "try it free first" — there is no meaningful free version. The $5.60 weekly plan is the real trial.
KNOW THIS Outside the EU and UK: 24 hours to request a refund, and refused if you have used more than 20 tokens. You get 100 tokens a month, and image generation spends them. Generate a handful of images to see whether the product is any good, and you have disqualified yourself from a refund while testing exactly the feature you are paying for.
EU and UK users get a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, prorated. That is law and overrides the policy. How every app in this category handles refunds →
GOOD Candy.ai accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC and Litecoin, and uses discreet statement descriptors — cards show "EverAI". For a product in this category these are substantive privacy features, not marketing copy, and several competitors do not offer them.
The company
CONFIRMED Operated by EverAI Limited, Malta, registration C107181, 56 Central Business Centre, Triq Is-Soll, Santa Venera SVR 1833. Terms governed by Maltese law. EverAI describes itself as "the world's largest AI Companionship platform."
A named, registered EU company is meaningfully better than the alternative. Several apps in this category — Janitor AI and Muah.AI among them — disclose no legal entity at all, which leaves you with nobody to pursue if something goes wrong.
Scale, and where its users come from
Candy.ai draws roughly 63.1 million monthly visits, with an audience that is 82.3% male, led by the United States (31.9%), Germany (10.1%) and Japan (9.9%).
52.71% of Candy.ai's desktop traffic arrives through affiliate marketing. That is the highest affiliate dependence of any app we track, and it is the single most useful thing to know before you read reviews of it — including this one. The company pays up to $44 per subscription or 40% lifetime revenue share, which is why the search results for this product are wall-to-wall recommendations.
What the company does not disclose
- UNVERIFIED The underlying model. Not disclosed. The company references in-house moderation tooling it calls "EverGuard," but names no base model. Reviews that tell you which model powers Candy.ai are guessing.
- UNVERIFIED Native mobile apps. We found no evidence of an iOS or Android app. Treat it as web-only until you confirm otherwise. This is normal for the category — the app stores exclude explicit companion apps, so nearly all of them ship as websites.
- UNVERIFIED Security posture. No published audit, no penetration test, no bug bounty. No breach on record either — see our safety assessment for what that does and does not mean.
Verdict
Buy it if price is your main concern and you want the largest uncensored platform run by an accountable, registered company. $47.88 a year with crypto payment and discreet billing is the strongest value proposition in the category, and the pricing page is more honest than most of its competitors'.
Go in knowing that you cannot evaluate it free, that generating a few test images forfeits your refund outside the EU, and that the annual plan is one charge of $47.88 rather than $3.99 a month.
Do not attach it to an email address or password that touches your real life. That is not specific to Candy.ai — it is what the Muah.AI breach taught this entire category, and no app here has published the kind of security evidence that would justify doing otherwise.
