Is Dream Companion safe?
It names a real German company in its terms, which puts it ahead of most of this category on the only question that has a checkable answer. Those same terms contain four words worth reading before you subscribe: "does not offer refunds." Whether that sentence is enforceable against you depends entirely on where you live.
1. Is there a real company?
CONFIRMED The terms of service name Miracle AI UG (haftungsbeschränkt) at Grolmanstraße 40, 10623 Berlin, Germany. Governing law is German, and disputes go to the courts of Berlin.
UNVERIFIED No Handelsregister number is published on the site. German companies have one, and Candy.ai publishes its Maltese equivalent (C107181). Without it you cannot look the company up in the commercial register from the site alone.
Set against the field, that is a good result. Muah.AI names nobody at all. Neither does Janitor AI. A named entity in a named jurisdiction with a named court means there is, at least in principle, somebody to take a complaint to.
A German GmbH requires share capital of no less than €25,000 under Section 5 of the GmbH Act. The UG (haftungsbeschränkt) is the form the same Act permits, under Section 5a, for a company formed below that threshold — which is why the law requires it to carry the "(haftungsbeschränkt)" tag in its name rather than hiding it.
This is a completely legitimate and very common German company form, and we are not implying otherwise. But the designation exists precisely so that anyone dealing with the company can see it is capitalised below the standard minimum. If you ever needed to enforce something against it, that is the relevant fact.
2. Will it refund you?
CONFIRMED "Dream Companion does not offer refunds for paid subscriptions."
Limited exceptions exist for "an error on our part" or "a technical issue with the service." Each request is reviewed individually, and the company reserves the right to refuse requests it considers "frivolous, unreasonable, or not in compliance with this Policy."
That is the most restrictive refund position of any app on this site. For comparison, Candy.ai gives you 24 hours or 20 tokens, whichever runs out first — which we have called bad, and which is still meaningfully better than nothing.
The same terms add that local refund laws more stringent than the policy take precedence. That sentence is doing a great deal of work.
If you are in the EU or UK: the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts is statutory. A contract term cannot remove it. A German company selling to EU consumers is squarely inside that regime, and the "no refunds" line does not override it.
If you are in the United States: there is no federal equivalent. The clause is the deal. Read it as written, because for you it is written correctly.
So the honest answer to "is the no-refund policy enforceable" is: probably not against a German or British buyer, and probably yes against an American one. That is an unusual asymmetry and it is the single most useful thing on this page.
3. What happens to what you type?
NOT ESTABLISHED No publicly confirmed breach. Dream Companion does not appear in the Have I Been Pwned database, and we found no reported incident.
There is also no published security audit, no penetration test, and no bug bounty. The correct reading is "nothing has gone wrong that we know of," not "it is secure."
A German company processing EU users' data sits under the GDPR, with a supervisory authority that can actually be complained to. That is a real difference from an operator that discloses no entity and no jurisdiction — there, a complaint has nowhere to go.
It is not a guarantee of anything. Replika's operator was fined €5 million by Italy's regulator and that did not prevent the underlying conduct. But an enforceable regime beats no regime.
The app describes itself as offering "NSFW AI chat, realistic AI companions, and uncensored conversations," with image generation and anonymous registration. What you type into it is the same category of data that Muah.AI lost 1.9 million accounts' worth of. Treat it accordingly.
4. What we could not establish
- UNVERIFIED Pricing. The homepage advertises a "Limited-time subscription offer 70% OFF" but publishes no figures. The subscription page is blocked to automated access by the site's own robots.txt, so we could not read the plans, the renewal rates, or whether the discount applies to the first term only. We are not going to print a price we have not seen. Any review quoting you exact Dream Companion figures should tell you where it got them.
- UNVERIFIED Handelsregister number. Named company, named address, no register entry published.
- UNVERIFIED Age assurance. The site is marked 18+ and offers anonymous registration. We found no age verification mechanism beyond a self-declared gate.
- UNVERIFIED The underlying model. Not disclosed.
The pricing gap is the one that should bother you, because the "70% OFF" framing is exactly the pattern that DreamGF uses to sign people up at $69.99 and renew them at $311.88. We are not saying Dream Companion does that. We are saying we could not check, and neither can you from the homepage.
So, is it safe?
On accountability: better than most of this category. A named German company, a real address, German law, Berlin courts, and GDPR over the top of it. That is more than Muah.AI, Janitor AI, CrushOn or SpicyChat offer.
On your money: read the clause and decide before you pay. "Does not offer refunds" is unambiguous. If you are in the US it is the whole deal. If you are in the EU or UK, your 14-day statutory withdrawal right stands regardless of what the terms say — and knowing that is worth more than any feature comparison.
On your data: unproven. No breach, no audit, no evidence either way. The habits that protect you here are the same everywhere: a dedicated email address, a unique password, and no real name, employer or city in conversation.
What we would actually do: find the price before subscribing, not after. Given the terms, treat any payment as final unless you are covered by EU or UK law.
